Hilary Placzek_headshot.jpg.jpeg

Thank you for visiting! I am a mission-driven research epidemiologist who has been involved in applied public health for nearly 20 years. Most recently I’ve been focused on measuring the financial impact of innovative care delivery models for behavioral health and mental health care models within digital and telehealth environments. My experience has focused on health equity, social risks, infectious diseases, vaccines, and other population health outcomes. I bring academic rigor to health organizations looking to make people healthier and happier while reducing costs and have partnered with payers, government agencies, integrated health networks, and community-based organizations in her professional experience.

My work as a first author and contributing researcher has been presented at national conferences and webinars, and published in journals such as PLoS Medicine, Journal of General Internal Medicine, Vaccine, American Journal of Managed Care, and American Journal of Public Health. My methodological training includes Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts Department of Public Health, University of Massachusetts Medical School, Boston University School of Public Health. I have a PhD in Clinical and Population Health Research from the University of Massachusetts Medical School, an MPH in Global Health/Epidemiology from Boston University School of Public Health, and a BA in French and Chemistry from Colgate University in Hamilton, NY.

I would love to hear from you.

Testimonials

Beyond her deep expertise in research and evaluation in the health care sector, Hilary is a strong manager and team leader. She has a keen eye for other’s strengths and is able to build and manage teams to best use these skill sets. This unique ability in combination with her strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders was a key asset on many of the interdisciplinary teams we worked with.
— Bridget Darby, MS, Researcher and Collaborator
I collaborated with Hilary for over 2 years on a wide variety of evaluation partnerships with major health systems across California. She demonstrated meticulous stewardship of data, attention to systems improvement, and refined interdepartmental communication all while driving forward innovations in managing evaluation partnerships. Hilary takes the time to understand the goals of a partner and collaborator and builds a process that generates products aligned with those goals.
— Sheena Nahm PhD, MPH, Managing Director of Program and Relationships
One of her most impressive skills is her ability to pull people together from very different job backgrounds to work efficiently towards a common goal. Before, during, and after projects that are led by Hilary, there is never a doubt that a strong protocol has been established, high standards are adhered to, and everybody is on the same page.
— Tristan Kaiser, MS, Scientist and Researcher
Her extensive analytic expertise, process-oriented approach, and thoughtful contributions resulted in meaningful findings, as well as drove learning and professional growth within our team.
— Karina Melkonyan, Manager of Quality Improvement
